Welcome New Customers

Dear Customer:

Welcome to Callaway 2 Water District.  It is our pleasure to serve you.  If you are signing up to have a new meter set, you will be required to sign all necessary paperwork, pay the $1,200 meter setting fee, a $50.00 deposit, & must show proof of ownership.  If you are signing up for an existing meter, you will have to sign all the necessary paperwork, pay a $50.00 deposit, & show proof of ownership.  If the meter is locked, a $60.00 reconnect fee could be required as well.  The following is a quick overview of our policies:

LAND OWNERS & DEPOSITS

  1. We collect deposits from landowners only. Please be aware that if you buy property for the purpose of using it as rental property, you as landowner are responsible for any bills left unpaid.  We highly recommend that you, the landowner, collect a water deposit from your renter as Callaway 2 Water District does not.  Your tenants will receive the initial bill, and if not paid by the 15th, the landowner & the tenant will receive a late notice.
  2. We will maintain your deposit as long as you are the legal landowner. Should you ever sell your property and there is no outstanding balance, you will receive your deposit back.  It could take up to 60 days to process.  If you sell your property, it is your responsibility to contact us and let us know when the closing date is, in order to have your meter read out on your last day of ownership, & give us a new forwarding address.

BILLING

  1. We read meters each month around the 15th (this could vary) & you will be billed on the following 1st. You should receive your bill no later than the 5th of each month in which it is due.  Not receiving your bill does not relieve you from being responsible for payment.  Should you not receive your bill, please contact our office so we can assist you in getting your bill paid.  Bills are due by the 15th of each month to avoid late fees.  After the 15th, a 10% late fee goes into effect, and you are then given until 4:00 PM on the 23rd to get your bill paid.  After that 4:00 PM deadline, a $60 administrative fee goes into effect and your service is subject to being disconnected.
  2. If you, the landowner, decide at any time that you want to disconnect the service, please be aware that there is a $13.00 availability fee due each month for the entire time of your ownership, regardless of whether the meter is locked or not. If you decide not to pay those monthly availability fees, they will continue to accrue on your account until you are ready to use the meter. At that time, all the monthly fees are due, along with a reconnection fee before the meter will be unlocked.  You may also be required to pay a deposit in the event the original deposit that was paid has been applied to a balance due.
